It's been a long time but I'm back

It's been a long time since I added anything to my blog. I've been so swamped with the community youth program that I've hardly had time to breathe. There are kids there that really need a lot of love and attention and they've caused me to have to take my mind off of myself and that's a really good thing. We have venting sessions where we all sit around in a circle and discuss what's going on in our worlds. One of the boys shared with us that he was suicidal. He's only 12 and he is an unbelievably sweet kid. I knew he was starving for attention, but I never would have guessed that he was suicidal. He shared that he'd attempted to hang himself at least three times and that he tried to wrap bobwire from a fence around his neck. It was unbelievable. I remembered earlier that day when he asked me if he was my favorite student. I told him, "I love all of you guys. I love you all the same." I hope he knows that I mean it from my heart. Anyone out there reading this, please lift him up in prayer.

The venting session helped me to realize how much kids need more positive things in their lives. It makes me want to create things that will make them feel good about themselves, that God created them for a purpose and that they can do anything they put their minds to because God loved them into existence and that he created them for success. I have to go to bed now. I have to go to the center in the morning. I 'll start posting pictures of my kids on this blog, so the world can see how precious they are.
